Hornsby Kuring-gai Tennis is launching a fun new weekly social tennis alternative for adults: Open Court Sessions. Play tennis with no experience or commitment.

What is Open Court Sessions?

It’s open to all adults, playing modified tennis with fresh, new game formats.

You will enjoy different activities including tennis on smaller courts, Pickleball and triples on a full sized court.

It’s for people who have not played tennis much lately, are returning to tennis after a break, or have never played at all.

Open Court Sessions provides a pathway to socialise and enjoy tennis where having fun is just as important as winning the game!

The 90 minute session will get you moving, get you fitter and you'll have a laugh with other people. You will become more confident hitting balls and learning the basics of tennis.

Finish the night with snacks and music as you socialise with new friends.

What do I need to bring?

No equipment necessary – just what you might wear to the gym. We supply the rest.

Where is it held?

Mills Park Tennis Centre, Stratford Close, Asquith

When does it start?

From 7:30 on Wednesday nights starting 29 January, the same evening of our popular weekly social tennis event. Some Open Court Session players might even move onto “normal” social tennis after one or more weeks of playing in the Open Court Sessions.

$20 per session - including all equipment and snacks.

How can I find more information and book in?

HKDTA LIFE MEMBER

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our "Life Member" Judith McCann.

Judith was the Secretary & first woman President of HKDTA, in late 70’ early 80‘s. She had played with the club since she was a teenager in the late 40’s when her family were involved, she was known then as Judith Lumley. Her family had a tennis court in Grosvenor Rd Wahroonga and her parents played/were involved in the club as well. She met her husband Peter in 1950 and they played tennis together in the comp and were members of The Young Tennis set. They moved to Victoria for 3 years late 60’s and she rejoined the club 1970 where she played and was involved up until the late 90’s when Judith & her husband Peter moved to Corlette @ Port Stephens.

Judith established many long lasting friendships whilst involved with the club,  friendships that lasted many many years and to this day, particularly with the ladies mid-week tennis. She also played weekend comp all those years as well. She was very active in both ladies mid-week and weekend comp and organised many, many activities, outing and get togethers for everyone involved in the club and the committee.

She will be greatly missed.
